My kittens pulled down my liner curtains (they were on a spring rod), and now my less than a year old curtains look all ghetto from them climbing them. I had a hell of a time finding the right shade of purple, too. I can't use a squirt bottle to discourage them because I don't want to screw up my air conditioner.
Two of my cats play with water so the old squirt bottle does nothing to them. The third just sleeps. The youngest is the official heller. I've given up on the couch arms and I just allow them to perform their artwork on them.
